At Pixie Star, we focus on providing quality and integrated training to enhance our students' fundamental skills and
techniques in various dance styles. We believe that everyone shines in their own way. Our team conducts classes designed
to explore each student's potential and talent while cultivating good values and positive character traits. This
approach helps students develop confidence and grace. We also recognize the importance of developing transversal
skills from a young age. Our goal is to develop well-rounded individuals who will thrive in their chosen fields.
OUR CLASSES
Rhythmic Gymnastics
Rhythmic gymnastics is a women-only sport in which individual or groups of gymnasts perform on a floor accompanied by music using apparatus to include a hoop, ball, ribbon, rope, clubs and freehand (no apparatus). The sport combines elements of ballet, gymnastics and dance and each movement requires a high level of athletic skill as well as physical abilities such as strength, power, flexibility, agility, dexterity, endurance and hand-eye co-ordination.
Contemporary Dance
Contemporary dance, is an expressive form of the body based on free movements and improvisation. The distinctive character of contemporary dance lies in the alternation between the force of movement and the release and the importance of the awareness of each gesture.
Street Jazz Dance
Street jazz is a lively, eclectic and unique form of jazz dance that focuses on movement that evolved outside of a studio setting; “in the streets”, if you will. Drawing from an individual form of expression, street jazz includes elements of house, vogueing, wacking, locking, popping, and improvisation for a high energy class.
K - Pop Dance
K-Pop dance combines elements of hip-hop and jazz, choreographed specifically to Korean pop music. The choreography often incorporates catchy and repetitive movements that complement the song's lyrics. Engaging in K-Pop dance not only offers a physical workout but also cultivates mental resilience.
Ballet
Ballet is a graceful and technical dance form that originated during the Renaissance. It features precise movements, pointe work, and storytelling set to classical music. Ballet has various styles, including classical, neoclassical, and contemporary. Known for its beauty and athleticism, it continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its elegance and emotional depth.
Modern Jazz Dance
Modern jazz dance is an energetic and expressive dance style that blends jazz techniques with contemporary influences. It features sharp, fluid movements, isolations, and dynamic footwork, often performed to upbeat music. Combining strength, flexibility, and rhythm, modern jazz emphasizes individuality and emotion. With influences from ballet, hip-hop, and modern dance, it remains a versatile and evolving art form, captivating audiences worldwide.
Pilates
Pilates is a low-impact exercise method focused on strength, flexibility, and body awareness. It emphasizes core stability, controlled movements, and proper alignment to improve posture and prevent injuries. Combining elements of yoga and rehabilitation techniques, Pilates enhances overall fitness, balance, and mind-body connection, making it popular for all ages and fitness levels.

Pixie Star RG & Dance Academy is a prestigious institution in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that specializes in rhythmic gymnastics and dance. Established in 2020 by Chrystal Lim and Vicky Yap, who have over 15 years of coaching expertise, Pixie Star has effectively developed gymnasts who have represented Malaysia at national and international competitions.
The academy functions as an exemplary training facility for recreational and competitive gymnasts and dancers. It provides high-
caliber professional instruction that enhances physical development and artistic expression. We offer a diverse array of classes designed for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Our curriculum includes Rhythmic Gymnastics, Contemporary Dance, Street Jazz Dance, Hip Hop, K-pop Dance, and various other styles.

Pixie Star has successfully organized national and international rhythmic gymnastics competitions, specifically the NEXSTAR
INTERNATIONAL RG COMPETITION, and dance events such as DANCE IN DIVERSITY. These competitions serve as valuable platforms for students to demonstrate their abilities and talents.
Our organization is equipped with a dedicated and highly experienced team of coaches, providing students with opportunities to
compete internationally. This initiative further enhances their exposure and experience on the global stage.

The INTERNAL RG GRADING & COMPETITION at SJKC Kuen Cheng 2 is a biannual event held every June and December, providing a platform for rhythmic gymnasts to showcase their progress and talent.
